Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT), a member institution of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sangfor Technologies (Hong Kong) Limited (Sangfor) on 20 December 2024 to jointly bolstering IT talent pool, promoting vocational and professional education and training (VPET) and further contributing to the Innovation Technology and Cybersecurity development in Hong Kong.
Witnessed by Mr Ringo Yiu, Regional General Manager (Mature Asia-Pacific Region) of Sangfor, and Dr John Hui, Principal of HKIIT, the MoU was signed by Mr Ban Cheng - Territory Sales Director (Government & Public Sector) of Sangfor and Mr Wing Wong, Vice Principal of HKIIT.
Through this partnership, Sangfor will establish an academic partnership with HKIIT, granting HKIIT students the right to utilize relevant materials from Sangfor, thereby enriching the learning resources available to the students and further providing extended learning activities, including guest lectures, company visits, and training workshops, to equip students with the essential professional skills.
HKIIT will offer upskilling and reskilling programmes for Sangfor employees through its "SkillsUP" in-service training services. Furthermore, HKIIT and Sangfor will collaborate on cybersecurity training initiatives, leveraging Sangfor's expertise to enhance HKIIT's curriculum and student experiences.
Together, we are excited to provide more young people with opportunities for professional development and strengthen the IT talent pool as well as sustain the industry’s development ! Please stay tune for more updates on this exciting journey!

Congratulations to the four teams composed of students from our Higher Diploma in Telecommunications and Networking, Higher Diploma in Software Engineering, Higher Diploma in Game Software Development, and Higher Diploma in Cybersecurity for their remarkable achievements at the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 Hong Kong SAR!
The teams won the second prize in the Practice Competition - Computing Track and Innovation Competition as well as the Potential Prize in Computing Track and Cloud Track, showcasing their outstanding technical knowledge, innovation, and teamwork. Also, HKIIT Acting Senior Lecturer, Mr Dino MA, was awarded as the Most Valuable Instructor by Huawei.
At HKIIT, we are committed to nurturing ICT talent by equipping our students with the skills and expertise required to excel in a rapidly evolving industry. We extend our gratitude to Huawei for providing this valuable platform to empower young talent and foster innovation.
Furthermore, HKIIT has become the first Huawei ICT Academy Support Center (IASC) in Hong Kong SAR. This collaboration marks a new milestone for both parties in the cultivation of ICT talent and represents an important step toward nurturing new forces in innovation and technology.

We are delighted to share that Google DevFest 2024 has just concluded at HKIIT, and it was a monumental event! Building on last year's achievement of over 1,300 registered participants, this year, we welcomed an impressive 2,000 registered attendees to HKIIT, making it our largest DevFest to date!
A special thank you to Michael Y. - Managing Director and General Manager of Google Hong Kong, along with Googlers, Google Developer Experts (GDE), and other leaders from supporting organisations. Your invaluable insights and experiences contributed greatly to the success of this event. We also extend our gratitude to the dedicated volunteers from GDG Hong Kong and our HKIIT teachers and students, whose hard work made this event possible.
At HKIIT, we partnered with Google to cultivate the next generation of cloud computing talent. Our students had the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge cloud technology educational resources in cloud technology and showcase their innovative capabilities in the GDSC Solution Challenge. Two projects namely “AI Cloud Industrial Safety Guardian Dog” and “GeProVis AI Screen Reader” achieved recognitions among the top 100 globally.
This year’s DevFest featured 8 Tracks and over 40 Sessions, exploring hot topics across various Google technologies and tailoring them to meet the needs of local developers. The sessions covered a diverse array of cutting-edge topics, including Generative AI, LLM, Flutter and Firebase, Cloud Computing, Web Technologies, etc. Attendees gained valuable insights, practical knowledge, and the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals passionate about technology.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the speakers, volunteers, and attendees who contributed to making Google DevFest 2024 another resounding success. We are excited to share the recent opening ceremony of the Infinite Universes – Czech Games World Tour 2024 at the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT). The event brought together distinguished guests, students, and gaming enthusiasts to celebrate creativity and innovation in the gaming industry.
A heartfelt thank you to Consul General Klara Jurcova and her team for the invaluable contributions and support, as well as to Miroslav Zák for his engaging online speech. This collaboration with the Czech Consulate highlights our commitment to fostering international ties and providing students with unique learning experiences. We were also delighted to welcome teachers and students from Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore, reinforcing the importance of knowledge exchange with HKIIT teachers and students in our global community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this remarkable event! We look forward to our next Master Lectures and more opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the future!

For over 30 years, OneAsia and Newtech have continuously welcomed and supported IT talents, currently employing over 40 VTC graduates across functions along their AI & digital infrastructure value chain. Many of these graduates have joined us for this meaningful ceremony, witnessing our unwavering dedication to nurturing future technology leaders.
