On 10 January 2026, HKIIT hosted a Trade-specific Information Session on Innovation and Technology in Shenzhen to promote VPAS eligible VTC full‑time Higher Diploma (2‑year) programmes to non‑local students.
We were honoured to have our esteemed industry partners, Mr Alex Wong, Deputy CEO from Huawei International Co. Limited, and Mr Kelvin Shiu, Vice President (Human Resources, Commercial & Solutions) from HKT Limited as guest speakers. They shared up‑to‑date industry insights, recent company developments and career opportunities, and outlined the technical and transferable skills required of today’s IT professionals.
We were also inspired by non‑local students from the Higher Diploma in Digital Media Technology and the Higher Diploma in Data Science and AI, who candidly shared their HKIIT learning journeys with an audience of some 900 participants both in person and online. Their stories highlighted the practical and industry‑specific learning opportunities that define our programmes.
By embracing HKIIT’s “I + I” (industry+institution) collaboration, we work closely with our industry partners to foster a dynamic synergy between industry expertise and VPET excellence at our institute. This approach ensures our curriculum remains relevant, offers real-life workplace learning experiences, and prepare our students to be job-ready.
Many thanks to our speakers, students and attendees for contributing to a successful and engaging event. We look forward to welcoming more students to HKIIT and continuing to deepen our I + I collaboration to prepare the next generation of tech professionals.
We’re proud to announce that HKIIT, as one of the co-organisers of the 10th Anniversary edition of Hong Kong Techathon+ 2026 and a Founding Member of the Global University Innovation Network (GUIN), celebrates a brilliant student achievement!

HKIIT co-organised the “Webinar on Cybercrime Information and Defending against Web Attacks” and “Workshop cum Seminar on Cybercrime Information and Web Attack Defense” with the Education Bureau (EDB), the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) and the Digital Policy Office (DPO) on 9 January 2026, with 150 secondary school principals and teachers attended the event.
We are also grateful to have Elastic's support on the workshop session, empowering educators with practical cyber defense technical knowledge. Participating secondary school teachers gained hands-on experience in deploying an open-source monitoring solution to help observe and protect complex school network environments, strengthening visibility, detection capability, and preparedness against cyberattacks.
Through demonstrations and guided practice, the workshop supported teachers in translating cybersecurity theory into actionable steps that they can apply in real school situations, helping to build safer school environments for students and staff.
We look forward to supporting more initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity capability across the education sector.
SIGGRAPH Asia 2025, the 18th ACM SIGGRAPH Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Asia, took place from 15 to 18 December 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. As the premier event in computer graphics, interactive techniques, AI, XR, animation, and gaming, it brought together researchers, developers, creators, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and showcase innovations shaping the future. Under the 2025 theme, “Generative Renaissance,” the event explored how AI is transforming creativity, art, and science, opening new forms of expression and discovery. This year’s edition convened a truly global community—7,000+ attendees, 400+ speakers, and 80+ exhibitors from 50+ countries.
HKIIT students were delighted to showcase their projects in the SIGGRAPH exhibition hall, presenting live demos across AI, VR, animation, robotics and gaming. Alongside the student exhibits, leading companies, universities, and researchers also demonstrated the latest applications of emerging technologies. Being part of this international platform enabled HKIIT students to meet guests from around the world, engage in thoughtful conversations, receive practical, real-time feedback from industry professionals and educators, and build cross-border connections that are instrumental to their next steps in learning, applications, and career development.
Our heartfelt thanks to HKIIT Advisory Board (IITAB) Chairman, Mr Raymond Cheng, and Innovation and Technology Training Board Chairman, Mr Robert Lai, as well as IITAB, ITTB and Hong Kong Association For Computer Education (HKACE) members, industry partners and secondary school teachers, for joining our guided tour and visiting the HKIIT exhibition booth. Your time, insights, and encouragement made the experience especially meaningful for our student teams!
HKIIT was delighted to host the HGC Champion Awards 2025 presentation ceremony and awardee sharing session at the Digital Innovation Co-creation Centre (DICC)—a strong showcase of innovation across cybersecurity, AI, cloud, and network technologies.
Special thanks to Alvin Wong, Jannis Chan, Daniel Ho, and Raymond T.
Thank you to HGC awardees for sharing the latest technologies and real-world applications with HKIIT students, spanning cybersecurity awareness platforms, automated threat detection, AI-driven infrastructure migrations, and autonomous network healing. Their demos and case discussions illustrated how these solutions are designed and developed.
Our students bridged classroom theory with real-world practice through exposure to industry-grade architectures, tools, and workflows, gaining practical insights into secure-by-design principles, automation pipelines, and reliability engineering. These industry applications provided clearer visibility into career pathways across cybersecurity, AI/ML, cloud, and network operations.
HKIIT looks forward to more collaborations with HGC that empower the next generation of tech professionals!
