DVE - Drone Entertainment Technology

* Class venue: HKIIT and IVE (Tsing Yi). HKIIT is located at VTC Tsing Yi Complex, 20A Tsing Yi Road, Tsing Yi Island, New Territories.

The programme prepares students for careers in drone applications for entertainment and live events. It covers essential topics such as animation basics, drone control, audio-visual production, interactive design, and project management. Graduates will be equipped to work in drone entertainment production and behind-the-scenes roles in multimedia technology, including lighting, sound, and special effects.

1. For some modules of the programmes, the medium of instruction and assessments is Chinese.
   
2. Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
   
3. The programme is newly offered in AY2025/26. The validation of programme will be conducted in 2025.
   

Completion of Secondary 3 or equivalent

Holders of Diploma of Vocational Education (students admitted to DVE in AY2017/18 or before are required to complete prescribed further studies modules) are considered having met the general entrance requirements of Higher Diploma programmes (not applicable to programmes with specific entrance requirements). Please refer to the details of Higher Diploma programmes in this homepage.

Graduates may be employed as Drone Technician, Multimedia Assistant, Junior Theatre Technician, IT Assistant and Assistant Wireless Network Engineer.

Note:
DVE students may consider taking the elective module “Mathematics 3E: Mathematics for Further Studies” for the eligibility to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes which require Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics as one of their general entrance requirements. Students may be required to pay a separate tuition fee for this elective module.
