About HKIIT

To address the pressing needs for IT talent across industries, VTC established the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT), VTC’s 14th member institution, on 1 November 2023, to offer comprehensive IT and relevant technology programmes for secondary school leavers, working adults and industry practitioners.

The HKIIT programmes cover in-demand and emerging IT skills in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Data Science, Web 3.0, Internet of Things, and more, with a view to nurturing all-round IT talent. The first cohort of HKIIT students will commence their studies in 2024/25 academic year.

HKIIT campus is situated at 20A Tsing Yi Road, Tsing Yi Island, New Territories. In addition, HKIIT also offers programmes at multiple campuses to support students coming from different locations, namely, IVE (Chai Wan), IVE (Kwun Tong), IVE (Lee Wai Lee), IVE (Sha Tin) and IVE (Tuen Mun).

HKIIT has been developed from the IT discipline of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education to an IT specialised institute. It will continue to be led by an experienced teaching team in the 2024/25 academic year, offering practical IT Higher Diploma and Diploma of Foundation Studies programmes closely aligned with industry needs to students. HKIIT aims to cultivate students’ professional knowledge and skills in the IT field, ensuring industry-specific learning contents, facilities, and internship opportunities through closer collaboration with the industry, guiding young people to excel in the IT profession.

Enable learners to develop and administer various IT and innovative and creative business applications and solution platforms, as well as computer servers, communication networks, cloud computing, big data, data science, financial technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and smart technologies.

Equip students for creative industries such as the computer graphics, multimedia, virtual reality, interactive technology, computer games and animation, theme park and theatre creative technology, live performance, user experience and social media technology.
