HKIIT Industry Forum and ExploreFest 2025: Celebrating Student Innovation and Excellence

HKIIT successfully hosted its annual flagship event, the HKIIT Industry Forum cum ExploreFest 2025, on 20 June 2025. The event attracted over 1,000 participants, including industry partners, professionals, secondary school principals, teachers, students, and members of the public to explore the achievements of HKIIT in fostering the development of IT talent.

Over 50 industry leaders participated in the HKIIT Industry Forum and shared their expert opinions on the future development of HKIIT. We are grateful for their continued support and invaluable insights, which are instrumental as HKIIT strives to nurture IT talents and establish itself as a leading IT training and examination hub in Hong Kong.

The project exhibition featured over 40 innovative student projects, showcasing HKIIT students' outstanding achievements and contributions to the fields of AI, cybersecurity, digital media, AR/VR, and more. These projects demonstrated the students' expertise, creativity, and professional skills, highlighting their ability to integrate innovation into daily life and contribute to the society.

In addition to the exhibition, HKIIT ExploreFest 2025 offered a series of taster workshops focusing on different technology areas, providing an engaging experience for the public and secondary school students. Participants had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge topics such as AI, cybersecurity, cloud technology, GenAI robot, VTuber, and drone technology, gaining hands-on experience and insights into these exciting fields.

Students from the Diploma of Foundation Studies (Digital Media Studies) participated in the production of the HKIIT annual review video, showcasing their skills in digital media technology. Additionally, students from the Higher Diploma in Theme Park and Theatre Creative Technology presented a “Stage Performance: Vocal Showcase with Entertainment Technology Design.” The technologies showcased by the students included advanced lighting programming, live sound mixing, 3D projection mapping, kinetic typography, and visual design.

HKIIT ExploreFest 2025 was a testament to HKIIT's dedication to fostering innovation and preparing students to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving technological world. In response to the enthusiastic interest shown by attendees, the HKIIT ExploreFest 2025 has extended its exhibition at the Digital Innovation Co-creation Centre until the end of September 2025. The public is welcome to visit the project exhibition, and tailored taster workshops will also be arranged for groups of secondary schools.
